The number of private vehicles continues to increase every year. The increase in the number of private vehicles are not comparable to public awareness of the importance of keeping the environment free from pollution. Many factors influence the increase in the number of private vehicles,

Private vehicles are not only resulted in increasingly uncontrollable gas pollution. congestion contributor but also traffic in almost all corners of the city. Especially when going to school and working hours as well as after school and work hours. So it is not inconceivable how much time and fuel oil (BBM) is wasted every day.

Blurred portrait above that caused me as a student was very concerned with the phenomenon that is familiar in Yogyakarta. I havea desire to create a better environment. Once we observe from different viewpoints, it seems the use of the school bus is the right thing to reduce private vehicle among students. School buses can be boarded students from leaving school to school. The use of school buses as mass transportation has the following benefits:

1. decrease air pollution in Yogyakarta
2. Reducing the number of private vehicles
3. Educating students to be able to socialize with their friends regardless of their social status
4. Students can streamline the time so it does not have a reason to come late to school
5. Exercising independence

For that we need a variety of preparation for the realization of the use of school buses with facilities that support the interests of students to use school buses as transportation in studying, among other things:

1. Itineraries according to the needs of students
2. The existence of stops in various strategic places in yogyakarta.
3. Imbalance between the number of school bus fleet that will operate with a number of students.
4. School bus departure time according to the schedule of the student.
5. School bus fare is affordable.
6. Comfort and safety of school buses.
7. Necessity of solving the problem between the presence of a school bus with existing public transportation

The role of the school is needed in socializing the use of school buses as mass transport students to make regulations regarding the mandatory use of school buses. It is not to prohibit students use private vehicles but rather to train students to understand the impacts that arise from the use of private vehicles are not effective and most importantly to educate students to love the environment. Thus the desire of the use of school buses as mass transport these students, in order to reduce air pollution in Yogyakarta through reducing the number of private vehicles among students.
